Windows 7 "always use the selected program to open this kind of file

I selected a default program and didn't realize that that was checked so adobe reader 9.1 is used in trying to open any and all files and program. I cannot even get in to some of my control programs to fix it. Is there anyway to fix this, I can't restore my computer because system restore opens with adobe. Nothing works I had to set google chrome as default for everything just to get online HELP ME PLEASE

Uninstall Adobe.

its alway so obvious that i feel stupid thank you so much i have dealing with this for hours. how do i turn that check mark thing off so this never happens again?
