Hello, Windows enthusiasts! Great news from the Windows Insider Blog: Microsoft has just released the Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds 22621.598 and 22622.598 (KB5017390) to the Beta Channel. Here's what you need to know about these builds, the differences between them, and what's been improved or fixed.
### Key Differences Between Builds
- Build 22622.598: This build has new features rolling out.
- Build 22621.598: In this build, new features are turned off by default. However, insiders in this group can check for updates and choose to install the update that includes the new features by opting for Build 22622.xxx.
### Changes and Improvements in Build 22622.598
#### Settings
- Users will not be able to uninstall apps with inter-dependencies, like Steam and related gaming apps, or repair Win32 apps under the Settings > Apps > Installed apps section.
- Modifying and uninstalling Win32 apps without interdependencies is still possible.
### Fixes in Build 22622.598
#### File Explorer
- An explorer.exe crash issue preventing a small set of Insiders using "launch folder windows in a separate process" from launching File Explorer has been fixed.
- An issue where you couldn’t interact with the top part of File Explorer (with the address bar) when in full screen (F11) mode has been resolved.
- Command bar items like copy, paste, and empty recycle bin will now be correctly enabled when they should be.
### Fixes for Both Builds 22621.598 & 22622.598
- Print Queue: A problem that created a duplicate print queue and stopped the original queue from working has been fixed.
- Roaming User Profiles: An issue where some settings were not restored upon signing in or out has been addressed.
### Known Issues
#### General
- New: Clicking the network icon on the Lock screen can crash the Lock screen, requiring a reboot to log in. After logging in, switching between wireless networks works as expected.
### About the Beta Channel
The Beta Channel is designed for previewing experiences closer to what will be shipped to the general public. Since the Dev and Beta Channels are on parallel development paths, some features may appear first in the Beta Channel. However, not every feature tested in the Beta Channel will make it to the final release.
