Hi, I tried browsing the forums but couldn't find a solution to my problem, so I thought I'd make a thread of my own.

I'm using the Creative SB Audigy 2 soundcard on Win 7 Enterprise 64-bit. I can hear sound just fine, but a problem arises when I try to record something. Once I've plugged the mic in, and speak into the mic, I can hear my voice OK. But when I press record, the end result sounds like this: Link Removed due to 404 Error That's a single blow into the mic, and it sounds like a helicopter. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Check Soundcard Settings: - Open the sound settings on your computer and check if any settings on the Creative SB Audigy 2 soundcard might be causing the issue. Adjustments to settings such as gain levels can sometimes help in reducing distortion. 5. Test with Another Software: - Try recording with a different recording software to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is software-specific. 6. Physical Checks: - Ensure that the microphone and its cables are in good working condition. Try using a different microphone to rule out any hardware issues. 7. Noise Suppression: - Enable noise suppression or microphone boost options in the sound settings to see if it improves the quality of the recording. 8. Disable Enhancements: - In the sound settings of Windows, disable any enhancements that might be causing interference with the microphone input. By going through these steps, you may be able to identify the cause of the recording issues you're facing with your Creative SB Audigy 2 soundcard.
