Hi,

I've just bought an itautec w7655 notebook with windows 7 starter. The webcam does not work with any program. The bison webcam software is installed but when I try to start it, windows popups a message saying "Please enable video capture hardware". The webcam does not appear in the windows devices list either. Please, someone could help me?

Thank you,

Talita

Hello Talita, It seems like you are facing an issue with the webcam on your Itautec W7655 notebook running Windows 7 Starter. The error message you are receiving, "Please enable video capture hardware," indicates that Windows is having trouble recognizing or accessing the webcam hardware. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue: 1. Check Webcam Hardware: - Ensure that the webcam hardware is properly connected to your notebook. - Check for any physical switches on the notebook that could enable or disable the webcam. 2. Update Webcam Drivers: - Sometimes outdated or corrupted drivers can cause webcam issues. Try updating the webcam drivers. - You can download the latest drivers from...
- You can download the latest drivers from the Itautec website or through Windows Update. 3. Enable Webcam in BIOS: - Enter your notebook's BIOS settings (by pressing a specific key during startup, which is usually displayed on the screen) and check if the webcam is enabled. - Enable the webcam if it's disabled and save the changes before exiting the BIOS. 4. Device Manager Check: - Open Device Manager in Windows and check if the webcam is listed under Imaging devices or any other category. - If the webcam is not listed or has a yellow exclamation mark, there may be driver issues. 5. Reinstall Webcam Software: - Uninstall the Bison webcam software from your system and then reinstall it. - Make sure to download the correct software for your specific model from the Itautec website. 6. Windows Updates: - Ensure that your Windows 7 operating system is up to date by installing all available updates. - Sometimes updates include fixes for hardware compatibility issues. 7. Antivirus and Firewall: - Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall software to eliminate the possibility of them blocking the webcam functionality. 8. Test with Different Software: - Try using other webcam software or applications to see if the issue is with the software you are currently using. If after trying these steps the issue persists, it could indicate a hardware problem with the webcam itself. In that case, you may need to contact Itautec support or a professional technician for further assistance or a potential hardware repair. I hope these steps help you resolve the webcam issue on your Itautec notebook. Let me know if you need further assistance!
