Windows 7 Blue Screen Error

Ever since my hard drive died on my HP TX2525nr and I replaced the harddrive and installed Windows 7 I'll randomly get a blue screen that says POWER_STATE_FAILURE_DRIVE or something similar to that. It never happened before with the last hard drive and windows of course can't find a way to fix the problem. What should I do?

Please uninstall the absolutely notorious sptd.sys using the installer/uninstaller tool found here. Then uninstall Daemon Tools. These things crash Windows 7 like no tomorrow! heh heh

You can use PowerIso for drive emulation because it is perfect stability.

Also, you have two antivirus utilites installed which very well can cause problems. Kaspersky and Avast. Please uninstall one of them at least. Better both and then install MSE as a stable replacement.

Look in the device manager for your exact modem and then try to Google for an updated driver for it:

Visit your manufacturer's website for the latest Synaptics touchpad driver to replace this one:

I have one further suggestion but I will hold off on that for now until you report back on the current stability after making these fixes. The first one is most important, but so is the a/v. Good luck.

It appears Daemon Tools did not uninstall correctly.

However, I see the faulty module belonging to your Avast Anti-virus program/

I would uninstall that and choose AVG or similar anti-virus software

Sptd.sys uninstall as I pointed to is need to completely uninstall the Daemon Tools remnant sptd.sys.

After doing thousands of bsod cases, I firmly believe AVG is the worst one of all to choose. MSE is the only antivirus that does not cause bsod.
