Hello all!

Great forum and nice set of tools here! This is a new Gateway FX6831-01 and I just had a BSOD after waking it from sleep mode. The messages went by fairly fast and the system rebooted itself. No other problems since, but I'd like to have a clue what caused it and eliminate it in the future!

I am new to Win 7 and like what I see so far. I completely skipped Vista....my last PC( may it rest in peace) was an XP box.

Anyway...attaching the Zip file created with the SF Diag Tool.
Thanks in advance for any advice!!

Wade

Many storage drivers do not support correct sector size reporting for Advanced Format disks. Updates to the following drivers are included in this hotfix:
  • IaStorV.sys
  • Amdsata.sys
  • Nvraid.sys
  • Nvsata.sys
Hehe.....I was looking at that hotfix and noticed the above....we crossposted....
iaStorV.sys is dated 7/13/09

Cool. That date is probably fine, as it's the date of all Windows 7 RTM OS drivers. You can install the patch if you want anyhow. Either way, I think the issue is already solved.

As far as testing out the pc....install your favorite game and play some time. See how it is.

Will do!

Thanks again for your help. I'm not a complete nube when it comes to PC's, but I wouldn't have gotten far without you....and would have probably just stopped using sleep mode. Hehe.

Will update this thread tomorrow after some testing.
