Windows 7 BSOD when coming out of sleep / hibernate

Hi,

I get the BSOD when the laptop wakes up from being asleep. Sometimes it happens when I've closed the lid (without powering down) and sometimes it happens if I just leave the laptop on with the lid open and it goes to sleep of its own accord. Most of the time I don't see the BSOD itself; I just get the 'Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown' message when I start up again.

I did update graphics drivers a while ago and I thought that had fixed it, but it seems the problem has now come back.

Hi,
many of your dump files are similar to the above although dump files blaming AVG AV and the HDD or storage drivers are also present.

Please update your drivers using the manufacturers support page:

Please make sure I have the correct page for your model. Pay close attention to the USB3 drivers as the current versions you have installed are known to cause bsods (2010 version)

Please remove AVG AV as it is known for causing issues at times in win 7. Please use MSE as it's known to be very stable:

Run a chkdsk:

If you still bsod after making the above changes and running a chkdsk then you need to test your RAM. Download the latest version of memtest86 here:

Post any new dump files.

Cool, thanks.

I've done what you suggest. Most of the drivers are already up to date, and even though the USB3 driver looks newer than 2010 on the Lenovo website, in fact it's the same version I have installed - 2.0.32.0. I've updated the ones that I could though.

Hopefully updating drivers, chkdsk and removing AVC will fix things, but I'll let you know if not.
