Windows 7 Can DIgital River Key work on DVD copy from retail???

I bought the $49 versions from Amazon back in July and got them and also bought like 3 different keys from digital river from $29.99, student price. Will a key for a "32 bit" version from Digital river work on a "32 bit" DVD retail copy???

Just wondered if anyone has tried it out.
 
It is confusing, but you should be able to use all the purchased keys you have for the same hard copy you have. So you effectively have 4 copies of that upgrade DVD.

You cannot use the keys for another version (Pro, Ultimate, etc.) since the hard copy is coded for just one version.
