Windows 7 Can only boot using "Last good known config"

Hi All!!

I started getting this prob today with Win 7 x64 RTM on my Dell Vostro 1000 notebook.. when I boot I get to the "Starting Windows" black boot screen and then BSOD comes up and mem dump starts and I have to reboot.. I can only start when I select "Last Good Known Config"..

What should I do? It started happening suddenly.. I don't know what I installed or did or what's causing it.. I'll try to note the Error Message with BSOD next time and update my thread.. till then any help would be great..

Hello and Welcome to Windows7forums..

You could spend a while troubleshooting and maybe find the root cause of the problem but for all the time it takes I'd suggest a reinstall.. Backup any personal files you may have and then wipe your HDD clean and start fresh.,,

It sounds like you may have acquired a Virus of some sort..
