Hi ,

i use my pc to share connection with another pc.This pc with Vista and another With XP(SP3).

I installed Windows seven and made the same wich i did in Vista to share my internet connection, but the internet does not work on XP.

What im doing(Vista[wich works] , and Seven[Wich does not working] :
> In the USB modem connection > properties >Sharing > Allow other network....
> In Ethernet network i configured manual IP adress

In XP(SP3)
> Set up A ip adress, and a Gateway ( The server IP ) , and my ISP DNS .

Well done... It's work with vista , but not with Seven...

What's wrong with these steps with Seven? what to do to work?

Thank you.

It seems like you are encountering an issue with sharing the internet connection from a PC running Windows 7 to a PC running Windows XP SP3. The steps you've outlined are correct for setting up internet connection sharing, but there might be some additional configurations needed to ensure proper connectivity between the two machines. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue: 1. Check Firewall Settings: - Make sure that the Windows Firewall or any third-party firewall software on both the Windows 7 and Windows XP machines is not blocking the shared connection. 2. Verify Network Settings: - Double-check the IP addresses and the gateway settings on both machines to ensure they are configured...

Verify Network Settings: - Double-check the IP addresses and the gateway settings on both machines to ensure they are configured correctly. - Ensure that the IP address of the Windows 7 machine (the one sharing the connection) is used as the gateway address on the Windows XP SP3 machine. 3. Enable Network Discovery and File Sharing: - On the Windows 7 machine, ensure that network discovery and file sharing are turned on. This allows the Windows XP machine to see and connect to the shared internet connection. 4. Restart Internet Connection Sharing Service: - Restart the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service on the Windows 7 machine. Sometimes restarting this service can resolve connectivity issues. 5. Update Network Drivers: - Check and update the network drivers on both machines to ensure they are compatible and up to date. 6. Reboot Both Machines: - Sometimes a simple reboot of both machines can help apply the changes made to network settings effectively. If after trying these steps the issue still persists, there may be a need for more advanced troubleshooting to identify the root cause of the problem. Let me know if you need further assistance after trying these suggestions!
