The April 2018 upgrade of Win10 stopped SolidWorks from wotking but fortunately i had cloned the HD and managed to recover SW. I was running Win 10 Home but have just upgraded to Win 10 Pro and stopped the upgrades through Group Policies but without success. I have also tried numerous other fixes but without success; more later.
I'm running Win 10 Pro, Version1709, build 16299.492 on a Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop.
The things i have tried are:-
1. Disabling Windows update in services as shown below.

2. Changed registry as shown below.

3. Changed update permissions in Services as shown.

4. I've deleted the downloaded update files from C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download
Download files.webp

It tried to install updates a few minutes ago without notification and i had to remove the battery to stop it. It then reverted back to the earlier installation.
I fear the upgrade as i will be faced with more non-productive work.
Any help appreciated

1709 will be EOL in not that long. I'd work with the software vendor to determine why it doesn't work on 1803. That would be easier to solve besides that fact that 1709 will stop receiving updates when it is EOL.

You may have to hang in a while!
