GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1155 - GA-P61-S3 (rev. 2.0)

Ive managed to update/flash (its the same thing?) my bios from F5 to F7 version within an utility provided by motherboard manufacturer called @BIOS ( you can find it on the same support and download section ). I had 3 options to update: from server, file or drive and I choosed the 1st one. The latest F8 version is no longer BETA but I couldnt upgrade to it at least not from server and I think I really need this since its more than half an year ahead of the previous.

However I downloaded the F8 files from manufacturer page , unpacked them and I had 3 files : one windows BATCH file "autoexec"
one aplication "Efiflash" and the F8 file p62s3.f8( I guess I need to put it on a flash drive ) .While atempting to run the 1st one I got the unsupported 16-bit aplication, with Efiflash something similar " this app cant run on this pc" message from windows 8.
So should I put them on a flash drive and then from bios menu to enter Q-flash and select update from drive or maybe doing the same witht hat utility I mentioned above? I have a Sandisk cruzer blade 16 gb.Is this good for this operation?

To update your BIOS on your GIGABYTE GA-P61-S3 (rev. 2.0) motherboard from version F7 to version F8, you can follow these steps: 1. Preparing the Update Files: - Download the BIOS update files (including the "autoexec" batch file, "Efiflash" application, and the F8 BIOS file) from the manufacturer's page. - Unpack the downloaded files to get the necessary components. 2. Using a Flash Drive: - Copy the F8 BIOS file (p62s3.f8) onto your USB flash drive. In your case, the SanDisk Cruzer Blade 16GB should work fine for this operation. 3. Updating the BIOS: - You can update the BIOS using the Q-Flash utility from the BIOS menu. Here's how you can do it: - Insert the USB flash drive with the F8 BIOS file into your computer...

Updating the BIOS: - You can update the BIOS using the Q-Flash utility from the BIOS menu. Here's how you can do it: - Insert the USB flash drive with the F8 BIOS file into your computer. - Restart your computer and enter the BIOS menu by pressing the appropriate key during startup (usually Del, F2, or F12). - Navigate to the Q-Flash utility within the BIOS menu. - Select the option to update the BIOS from the drive. - Choose the F8 BIOS file (p62s3.f8) from the USB flash drive for the update process. 4. Addressing Errors: - If you encountered errors like "unsupported 16-bit application" or "this app can't run on this PC" when running the autoexec batch file or Efiflash application on Windows, it's recommended to update the BIOS from the BIOS menu using Q-Flash. This method is more reliable for BIOS updates. 5. Additional Tips: - Make sure your system is connected to a reliable power source during the BIOS update process to prevent any interruptions. - Follow the on-screen instructions carefully while updating the BIOS to avoid any issues. - After the BIOS update is complete, it's advisable to reset the BIOS settings to default values for optimal performance. By following these steps, you should be able to update your motherboard's BIOS successfully from version F7 to the newer version F8. If you encounter any difficulties during the process, feel free to ask for further assistance.
