When I create a file in Windows 7 and save it I get the current date and time stamp but when I edit the program at a later time and date and save again it doesn't change the date and time stamp it stays the same as the original file! I feel like a moron but how can I change this?

Solution
It seems like the issue you're facing is related to the file properties in Windows 7, specifically the date and time stamp not updating when you edit and save a file. This behavior is due to the way Windows handles file properties, and it can be adjusted based on your preferences. Here's how you can potentially address this:

Steps to Change File Date and Time Stamp Properties in Windows 7:

  1. File Properties:
    • Right-click on the file you are editing.
    • Select "Properties" from the context menu.
    []Modify Timestamp:
    • In the Properties window, go to the "Details" tab.
    • Check the "Date created," "Date modified," and "Date accessed" fields to see the current timestamps.

    ]Update Timestamp:
    • To update the timestamps to reflect the latest changes, you can manually modify the "Date modified" field. This action can be useful if Windows is not updating the timestamp automatically.
  2. Third-Party Tools:
    • Alternatively, you can use third-party tools to manage file attributes and timestamps in a more advanced manner. Tools like "Attribute Changer" or other similar software can help customize file properties easily. By manually adjusting the file properties or using third-party tools, you can update the date and time stamp of your files in Windows 7 to accurately reflect the last modification date. This should help resolve the issue you're experiencing with unchanged timestamps on edited files.
