I am using Windows 7 Premium 32bts and Live Mail is my default programme. Every time I open the Live Mail I get a message that I have to wait while Live Mail is being configured, this happens every time without exception, the programme then opens and works as it should. It seems strange that this happens every time and I would have thought that this should only happen on the first installation.

I have re-installed the programme several times but unable to get rid of this minor problem and wonder if anyone has the answer to this.

Solution
It seems like you're facing an issue with Windows Live Mail repeatedly going through a configuration process every time you open it, even though it should typically only happen during the initial setup. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this issue:

Possible Solutions:

  1. Check for Windows Updates:
    • Ensure that your Windows 7 system is fully updated. Sometimes, missing updates can cause issues with programs like Windows Live Mail.
    []Repair/Reinstall Windows Live Mail:
    • Instead of just uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Live Mail, try repairing the installation. This can sometimes fix configuration-related issues.

]Run Windows Live Mail as Administrator:
    • Right-click on the Windows Live Mail shortcut and choose 'Run as administrator'. This might help in resolving any permission-related issues that could be causing the configuration problem.
    []Disable Compatibility Mode:
    • Check if Windows Live Mail is running in compatibility mode. Right-click on the shortcut, go to 'Properties', and under the 'Compatibility' tab, ensure that no compatibility settings are enabled.
    [
    ]Check Event Viewer for Errors:
    • Use the Event Viewer in Windows to check for any error messages related to Windows Live Mail. This might provide more detailed information about the issue.
    []Create a New User Profile:
    • Create a new user account on your computer and see if the issue persists when using Windows Live Mail from the new account. This can help determine if the problem is related to your user profile.
    [
    ]Contact Microsoft Support:
    • If none of the above solutions work, consider contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance. They may have specific troubleshooting steps tailored to this issue.

      Update:

Since Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, Microsoft no longer provides security updates or technical support for this operating system. It is highly recommended to upgrade to a newer version of Windows to ensure that your system remains secure and up-to-date. If you encounter any specific error messages or details while following these steps, please provide them for more accurate troubleshooting assistance.
