Windows 7 Connecting to Home group problem

I am trying to join a home group. My network type is set to "Home".

When I join and enter the password...I get an error that says:
"A homegroup can only be created on a home network"

I have tried to set the network to public and then back to Home...without success.

Is there a place in the Registry where I can check this?

It is not a wireless network....windows 7.

The image above shows the problem I have. For some reason windows does not recognize that my network is already set to HOME. When I try to join the homegroup and enter the password...I get the pop-up error showing in the image.

Please any ideas??
