It sounds like you are experiencing connectivity issues when playing games in LAN mode despite being able to connect to the WiFi network. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check LAN Settings

  1. Network Discovery: Ensure that network discovery is enabled on all devices. This allows devices to see each other on the network.
  2. Firewall Settings: Temporarily disable the firewall on all devices and try connecting again. If it works, adjust the firewall settings to allow the game and LAN connections.

    Verify Game Settings

    Verify Game Settings

  3. LAN Mode: Make sure the game is set to LAN mode and not blocked by any firewall or antivirus programs.
  4. Ports: Check if the game requires specific ports to be opened on the router. Configure port forwarding if needed.

    Update Network Drivers

  5. Network Adapters: Update the network drivers on all systems to ensure compatibility and stability.
  6. Router Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your router and update it accordingly.

    Troubleshoot Connectivity

  7. Restart Devices: Restart all devices including the router and computers.
  8. IP Address Configuration: Ensure that each device has a unique IP address assigned by the router and there are no conflicts.
  9. Network Cable: If using a wired connection for LAN, check the network cables for any issues.

    Additional Tips

  10. Quality of Service (QoS): Prioritize game traffic on the router settings if available.
  11. Network Load: Check if the network load is causing issues. Disconnect unnecessary devices from the network. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with LAN connectivity while playing games. If the problem persists, provide more details about the game you are trying to play and the specific error messages encountered for further assistance.
