I'm really sad right now, I'm playing many games but my problem 99% of the time is with Final Fantasy XIV ARR and the constants Bsod's that I get playing it. It's totally random sometimes I can play 3 or 4 days without a problem and suddendly I get BSOD 3 days in a row always caused by hall.dll driver.

I really need some help, I built this rig to play this game and for some reason I have this problem since like a month and no way to fix it. I finished Batman Arkham City, Bioshock Infinite and I'm playing now Batman Arkham Origins and not one Bsod.

My rig:

i7 4770k stock
GTX 760 2GB Gigabyte ( latest driver )
8 Gigs of Ram
Win 7 64 Bits

Here there is a screenshot of Bluescreenviewer so you can see what triggers my Bsod.

Link Removed

I did 10 passes of "Memtest" all night long and I had 0 errors. I also updated all my drivers with the Update Software that came with my Motherboard. Updated Windows and my GPU driver.

I did a Prime95 test for almost 1 hour and a half and my temp never went over 60º C and no BSOD's. My Gpu while gaming is never over 55º C.

Help please

Hi,
most of your dmp files are bugcheck 124 which means an hardware error. This may not mean something is broken however as drivers can cause this bsod too. Going through the dmp file will tell us more:

BiosVersion = F4
BiosReleaseDate = 05/16/2013
Please update your bios as updates are available:

I'll do all those steps.. I'll post any new dmp files when I get some new Bsod's ( of course I hope this will not happen )

Thanks for the info.. really appreciated

So far no more Bsod's ( but before I've been like this for days with no Bsod's and suddendly they start .. in my uploaded reports you can see that sometimes the Bsod returns a week later and I keep using the same programs everyday )

This is what I have left to do.. the rest is done

Uninstall and just use MSE as explained above. ( I don't know how to uninstall this because it doesn't appear in my apps list )

I also noticed this in your unloaded modules:
RTCore64.sys: RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner (known BSOD issues w/Win7). Uninstall to test.
( This is the only software that I have for increasing my GPU fan speeds )

Any ideas to fix those 3 things left?

Thanks in advance.. I'll keep testing stabilty and posting anything important

Well see how you go and if you don't bsod leave them as they are for now. Hope it goes well..

I got Bsod again.. same error as always.. this time playing FIFA 14.. that game doesn't really push my rig in any way

The thing is that this Bsod never happens when I'm surfing the web, with my comp idle or talking with skype etc. Only happens when I'm gaming.

I've uploaded the file with my info and the last Bsod.. I hope this time we can find the reason behind this

Thanks in advance

Solution

My driver for the GPU is up to date

I use MSI Afterburner to control my fans, I've tried also Evga and RivaTuner. I don't know any other way to increase my Gpu fans. And the Bsod is always present with any of those 3 softwares.

I'm sure I updated the bios twice.. I'll check that when I get home

I'm updating it with the motherboard software. It's safe to just download the latest version from here Link Removed and update from the file with my MB software?

Thanks in advance

I just manually updated the Bios to the latest version

Version F5 2013/08/15

I checked before the manual update and the software wasn't downloading the latest version, I still had Version 4 even after two Bios updates. I hope this will be fixed now that I have Version 5

This is new in the latest version:
  1. Support PCB ver 1.0/1.1
  2. Improve PCIE-E compatibility
So if my problem is always during gameplay sessions, I'm hoping that the improved compatibility in PCIE-E will avoid any Bsod in the future.. I'll keep posting my results and if this goes bad and I get another Bsod I'll upload the info.

Thanks for your time.. I really appreciate it.. this problem with my new computer is really hard to understand by myself

No need to apologise but I'm afraid it's looking more and more like a hardware issue. Check your bios settings are correct and also update your CPU-Z as it's from 2011.

Have you actually tried removing the app suggested above?

I can try that but I'll have no way to increase my gpu fans speed ( they are at 20% by default ). So it will be hard for me to test because in games the Gpu would be really hot all the time with only 20% fan speed.

I think I updated my Cpu Z, I'll check that when I get home.

A few days ago I loaded the default optimized values for my Bios. Should I change something or it's better if they are at the default config ?

Also I have a second question. Sometimes I can play normally for hours all week long and no problems. Like this last time it was almost a week playing everyday for hours and no Bsod. I really can't understand why sometimes this Bsod happens after a week since the last one.. and sometimes they can happen 2 days in a row.

I hope is not a hardware issue and thanks for all the help

PS: if this is a hardware problem.. it's my GPU or CPU the reason for the Bsod?

PS2: My CPU Z is 1.68.0 January 2014

http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=385694 Any info here could be usefull?

They talk about the vcore voltage, my computer is always changing voltages because when I'm on my desktop the Cpu goes into a low consumption mode and my vcore is always lower, also the temps are lower and the frecuency of the processor.

C1E, Thermal Monitor, C-State .. this options in the Bios are the ones that lower my voltage when I'm idle? And it's safe to disable them?

My Cpu vcore is different in every program.. also my Cpu should be at 3.9 Mhz with Max Turbo Frequency when is working at 100% isn't?

I uploaded a picture with this 3 programs with prime 95 running.. I think it's weird that my cpu don't go to 3.9 Mhz working at 100%.

Any ideas?

I shouldn't worry too much app about each a showing you a different thing. Information/data is often collected and displayed in various ways. Looking at cuz it looks like your voltage is a little low. Try raising it manually to 1.090v.

I'd like to see the memory tabs in cpu-z and the cpu voltage looks a little too low for me. I've seen the 124 error if the vcore or pll voltages are too low and on occasion if memory timings or voltages are out.
