Hello,

I have a very annoying problem and I have no idea what happened.

I was playing CoD4 (as usually) yesterday, everything worked fine. Then I shut down my laptop and this morning I noticed my CTRL button isn't working. It works on OSK (On-Screen Keyboard).

I've been searching for solution about 4 hours now, and no luck, at all.

I wish someone of you could help me, thanks in advance.

By the way, my laptop is Acer Aspire 5742G with Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Solution
With laptops, this is a common occurrence, when the key actuator goes bad or just plain worn out. You should be able to replace it yourself or take to a PC shop and have them do it.

Solution
I was thinking about that, but how can both of the key actuators go bad at the same time?
I have never used the right-side one. And it isn't working. I feel like something is blocking them (Software-sided).
