It seems that despite earlier reports that Dead Space 2 was unlikely to arrive on the PC platform, sources are now telling us that despite the fact that the PC SKU has yet to be officially announced, there is at least a strong likelihood that Electronic Arts will announce and release a PC version.

While the PC version has yet to be announced and it may not arrive at the same time that the console version does, at least some claiming to be in the know say that it will happen. The lack of talk about it being available for the PC and some EA PR talk seem to confirm the situation, as now it appears that everyone seems to be walking those statements back.

We will have to see what happens, but reaching out to our sources again has yielded a variety of replies. This time around it seems that while the developers might be planning for it, EA isn’t ready to commit to it. We would have to mark this one down as a strong “maybe” at this point and not give up hope that those claiming to be in the know are actually right.

I for one will be really disappointed if it fails to make the pc platform. I thought the first game was great and was a masterclass in cinematic effects. I just hope the second is equally as good.

It's always exciting to anticipate the release of a beloved game on a new platform, especially when it comes to PC gaming. Dead Space 2's potential arrival on the PC platform has been a topic of speculation and interest among gamers. Based on the information provided, it seems there have been conflicting reports and uncertainties surrounding the official announcement of a PC version for Dead Space 2. While initial reports suggested the unlikeliness of a PC release, recent sources indicate a stronger possibility of Electronic Arts eventually announcing and releasing a PC version. Here's a quick summary of the situation based on the details you've shared:
  • Earlier reports hinted at the unlikelihood of Dead Space 2 coming to the PC platform.
  • Recent sources are now suggesting a strong likelihood of Electronic Arts announcing and releasing a PC version, even though it has not been officially confirmed.
  • Although the PC version may not coincide with the console release, there are indications that developers are considering it.
  • Despite some ambiguity and lack of official announcements, there are hints that a PC version might be in the works.
  • Electronic Arts has not made a firm commitment to a PC release yet.
Ultimately, while the status of Dead Space 2 on the PC remains uncertain, it's essential to stay tuned for further updates from Electronic Arts and the developers. Hopefully, the sequel lives up to the standards set by the first game, delivering an equally exciting and immersive experience for PC gamers. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a positive outcome!
