HELP!!
Using my wife's Sony Vaio with Vista (SP1) to upload photos to a share site finds the wrong photos. This was replicated at work using a totally different upload site.
When pics are changed or deleted using Corel PSP X2, all shows correct in the oiginals folder using Corel, Windows Photo Gallery, or Windows Explorer. But when I go to the photo sharing site and transfer (either using Windows Explorer and drag and drop or using the site's ActiveX control [which looks like explorer]), deleted photos (not even chosen) and older versions are transferred instead.
I've rebooted and cleared IE history, cache and cookies. The only thing that works is by copying the pictures to a different directory and then uploading.
Anyone know what's going on here?

Solution
It sounds like you are facing a peculiar issue with uploading photos from a Sony Vaio running Windows Vista SP1 to photo sharing sites. The problem seems to occur when you delete or make changes to photos using Corel PSP X2, and then the incorrect photos are uploaded to the sharing site. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
Possible Solutions:
- File Metadata Issue:
- Sometimes, metadata within image files can cause unexpected behavior when uploading. Try clearing the metadata of the images before uploading them.

- Ensure that the browser you are using is fully compatible with the photo sharing site. Some ActiveX controls might not work well with certain browsers, especially on older operating systems like Windows Vista.
- Check for any software conflicts that might be interfering with the upload process. Sometimes, third-party applications can cause unexpected issues.
- Try using a different method to upload the photos, such as a dedicated photo uploader tool provided by the sharing site, to see if the issue persists.
- Before uploading, confirm the contents of the files you are selecting. Verify that the correct images are being chosen for upload.
- Ensure that all software on the Sony Vaio, especially Corel PSP X2 and the browser, are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
- If the issue persists, try using a different browser or a different computer to verify if the problem is specific to the Sony Vaio.
Additional Notes:
- Uploading photos to a different directory before transferring might be a temporary workaround, but it's not a long-term solution to the root issue.
- If none of the above solutions resolve the problem, you might want to contact the support of the photo sharing site or Corel for further assistance.
