Windows 7 deleting windows.old ?

hey,

can any1 tell, is the windows.old folder important? i can see there is a WINDOWS folder with system files are they being used on my current installition?

no,its not important,its 1 of the first things i deleted giving me 12 gb back,have a look thru it first to refresh your memory of what you had installed instead of having to rack your brains,if your able to install from icons do this then delete the windows.old files/folders,all it does is eat memory
