Windows Vista DEP causing Internet Explorer to crash

Can you give us the exact error message you receive when it crashes. That's important in being able to troubleshoot your problem.

Has it always done this since day 1 or just recently?

If so, have you installed any new software or made any other changes to your system?

Do these sites use XML?

It says that the website can not be displayed due to Data Execution Prevention, then it gives me a link to click to read on how to disable it (which I've done). It has done it since day one. I have made no changes to the system, and the software that I had installed, I have since uninstalled (just to see if any of it made any difference).

When DEP is disabled, the website also will not display, it loads, then I get a message telling me that Internet Explorer has crashed. It attempts to recover itself, and re-load the page, and then crashes again. Then a page pops up telling me that the page can't be displayed and that as a means to prevent "Internet explorer from looping" it has stopped trying to load the page.

I've tried that too, and it doenst work. Now I get (as I have been) [This is w/o the enable memory protection feature checked under internet options) (and I assume with DEP disabled?)

Internet Explorer has stopped trying to restore this website. It appears that the website continues to have a problem.

When a website causes a failure or crash, Internet Explorer attempts to restore the site. It stops after two tries to avoid an endless loop

This is the message I get w/ the "Enable memory protection" option checked under advanced options (tools, internet options, advanced).

A malfunctioning or malicious add-on has caused Internet Explorer to close this webpage.

Go online to learn about the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) security feature

Apparently, you don't understand when you visit some porn sites, they download malicious code and that's the reason why it's preventing it.

You probably already have junk on your computer from visiting porn sites.

I'd recommend a complete virus scan.

Not a single thing on the install, aside from the three windows updates it got right after I installed and booted up.

nothing to do with porn sites.. my sharepoint infrastructure I utilize @ my office does not work with IE8 and windows7
