Windows 7 display prob eeepc901

Hi all,
Hopefully someone knows whats going on, this has got me scratching my head, big style.
Installed RC1, ok. everything works perfect until you reboot, then you see loading screen and display shuts down!! Win7 continues to load, but with no display......until...........I plug in an external monitor?? Then the 9" display on the laptop springs back to life.
Installed all drivers I could find, some using compatibility wizard and everything seems to be working perfect.
Any ideas would be great.

Sorry, forgot to say, I can then unplug the external monitor and use the laptop normally. I do get an error after that saying igfxswitch not working, disable? but it makes no difference which option i choose.
