As you know Win 7 offers options (especially for notebooks) to dim the display after e.g. 15minutes
or turn it completely off after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Obviously the user can save (rechargable) power with that.
But I am particularly interested in possible disadvantages for the hardware display.
I could imagine that either
a) the display is somehow protected when not so used intensively
or (in the opposite)
b) always dimming and turning on and off the display causes on the long term damages at the display electric.
Can someone tell me more whats recommended from the hardware point of view?
Thank you
Peter
