Windows 7 Driver error 39 with Huawei E1762 3G Modem

Hi,

I've been using this modem for about 4 months now without a problem, but I had a system crash today and now can't get it to work again. (it works fine on other computers)
Device manager gives me error 39, and I've tried deleting the drivers and reinstalling, as well as deleting the registry entry under the networking class, but neither of these seems to have fixed the problem.
Also tried using a set of drivers downloaded from the manufacturers website, same error.

Any idea where to go from here?
Its on windows 7 Home Premium, on an acer Ferrari One Netbook
Thanks
-Josh

Hi.

First, try installing the latest chipset and bios for the machine, from the manufacturer's site.

Then see if it shows well in the device manager. Install the latest modem driver now if not and see how it goes.

I just had a look at the acer website, my bios is the most recent and I couldn't find any chipset drivers. :-(
