Windows 10 Edge Chromium YouTube chat located below video instead of on the side

Hello,

I have been using Edge Chromium to view YT videos because it doesn't wind up buffering after a while of watching videos the way it does in FireFox. All of my browsers (except for Edge) have the chat on the right side of the screen. Edge Chromium recently spontaneously now seems to have the video looking magnified even though the zoom shows the same 100% as the other browsers and as a result of this magnified appearance it is causing the chat to locate itself below the video instead of on the right side.

This makes it impossible to watch videos and chat simultaneously unless you use the "pop out chat" feature and when doing this the chat box can cover part of the video. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Wonder Woman

It seems like the issue you are facing with Edge Chromium is related to the screen layout or zoom settings affecting the video display on YouTube. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the magnification and chat position issue in Edge Chromium:

Adjust Zoom Level:

  1. Reset Zoom: Press Ctrl + 0 to reset the zoom level to default (100%).
  2. Zoom Settings: Click on the ellipsis menu (three dots) in Edge, go to "Zoom," and adjust the zoom level to 100%.

    Screen Layout:

  3. Full Screen Mode: Press F11 to enter or exit full-screen mode.
  4. Browser Window Resizing: Ensure the browser window is maximized or resized to its standard dimensions.
  5. Font Scaling: Check Windows...

  6. Theater Mode: Check if YouTube's Theater Mode is enabled, impacting the video display.
  7. Video Aspect Ratio: Ensure the video aspect ratio settings are correct.

    YouTube Specific:

  8. Chat Position: If YouTube chat is below the video, try resizing the chat box to move it to the side.
  9. Browser Compatibility: Ensure the browser is up-to-date and compatible with YouTube features.

    Browser Settings:

  10. Reset Browser Settings: If issues persist, you may consider resetting the Edge Chromium browser settings to default. After trying these steps, you should be able to adjust the video magnification and chat position on YouTube in Edge Chromium. If the issue continues, further investigation or adjustments may be necessary based on specific browser settings or YouTube configurations.
