Errol Musk, father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Global Advisor to Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd, recently arrived in India to engage with the nation's burgeoning green technology and electric vehicle (EV) sectors. His visit underscores the growing global interest in India's rapid advancements toward sustainable development and its ambition to become a leader in green technology exports.
During his stay, Errol Musk is scheduled to visit Servotech's manufacturing plant in Sonipat, Haryana, where he will observe the production of EV chargers, solar solutions, and other sustainable technologies. This visit highlights India's commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative, emphasizing domestic manufacturing excellence in the green tech sector.
In addition to the plant visit, Musk is slated to deliver a keynote address at the India–Global Green Tech Vision Forum 2025 in New Delhi. This forum aims to bring together policymakers, investors, business leaders, and senior bureaucrats to discuss India's strategic push for leadership in green technologies.
Servotech's Managing Director, Raman Bhatia, expressed enthusiasm about Musk's visit, stating that his "profound expertise and global vision as our Global Advisor are invaluable as we drive India's mission to become a powerhouse in green technology and EV charging exports."
Errol Musk himself remarked on India's progress, saying, "It is an immense privilege to be in India and witness its vibrant progress in green technology and sustainable development. India's commitment to a cleaner future and its burgeoning EV ecosystem present incredible opportunities."
This visit comes at a time when India is hosting several significant events focused on sustainability and green technology. For instance, the Global Sustainability Summit (GSS) 2025, organized by the Indian Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD) and Carbon Minus India (CMI), is set to take place on March 6, 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The summit aims to address pressing global challenges and showcase India's leadership in sustainability and decarbonization. (gss2025.iisdindia.in)
