We are thrilled to announce the release of Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.4593 (KB5039299) to both the Beta Channel and Release Preview Channel for Insiders who are on Windows 10, version 22H2.
New Features and Enhancements for Beta Channel Insiders:
- Search on the Taskbar: Improvements have been made to enhance the stability of searching for apps in the search box on the taskbar.
- Windows Backup: Introducing seamless backup and restoration of personalization preferences, ensuring essential settings are backed up for a smooth transition to a new PC. Bug fixes have enhanced the backup and restore functionalities.
Notable Updates Introduced:
- Copilot in Windows Advancements: Copilot on Windows has been upgraded to behave like an app pinned to the taskbar, providing users with the benefits of a traditional app experience. Managed commercial devices will not receive this new experience.
- Microsoft Store Enhancements: Fast, secure checkout with Microsoft Wallet enables quick purchases in Store, along with the ability to redeem Microsoft Rewards points for gift cards during checkout.
Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements Include:
- Addressing an issue affecting MSIX applications failing to open when installed from an HTTPS URI.
- Resolving issues with mobile device management (MDM) and default Japanese Input Method Editor (IME) behavior.
Known Issues and Resolutions:
- Investigations are ongoing regarding Internet Information Services (IIS) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) functionality post-update.
- An issue related to Settings crashing when accessing Wi-Fi properties is under investigation.
