Greetings Windows Insiders,
We are here to inform you that the rollout of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26236 in the Canary Channel has been temporarily paused as of June 18. Rest assured, we will resume flights to the Canary Channel shortly. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this brief pause.
Key Updates and Enhancements:
- Start Menu Improvement: With this update, the roll-out of the new account manager on the Start menu has commenced. Signing in with a Microsoft account now provides a quick, glanceable view of account benefits and simplified account settings management.
- Taskbar Fix: Addressed an issue causing the taskbar to not appear for a small number of Insiders in recent flights.
- Audio Enhancement: Resolved an underlying issue affecting the persistence of preferred audio volume for Microsoft Edge across app restarts.
Known Issues:
- We are currently investigating reports of Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels being stuck on Build 26040 or Build 23620. While investigations are ongoing, impacted users seeking the latest build can opt for a clean install using the latest ISO version.
- A new investigation is underway regarding the colors not displaying correctly in the Performance section when in dark mode.
Microsoft Store Update:
Windows Insiders in the Canary, Dev, and Beta Channels, running version 22405.xxxx.x of the Microsoft Store and higher, will experience improved checkout convenience with Microsoft Wallet. Earn reward points and redeem them for gift cards, all within the Store interface.
Community Reminders:
- The Canary Channel builds are for testing purposes and may never align with a specific Windows release. Features introduced in these builds are subject to change based on feedback.
- Features are gradually rolled out and monitored for feedback before full implementation.
- Issues related to localization can be reported via the Feedback Hub.
Exiting the Canary Channel:
To move from the Canary Channel requires a clean installation of Windows 11 due to technical requirements and build compatibility limitations.
