Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.3030 (KB5026435) to the Release Preview Channel. This update brings numerous improvements and enhancements designed to boost your Windows 10 experience. Here's what's new and updated:
### New Features and Enhancements:
- Improved Search Box Experience: An upgraded search box is back on the taskbar. Whether your taskbar is set to top, bottom, regular, or small icons, the search box will be visible. It provides easy access to apps, files, settings, and more from both Windows and the web. Additionally, you can access the latest search updates, such as search highlights.
- Enhanced Toast Notifications: Now you can view up to three high-priority toast notifications simultaneously. This applies to apps using Windows OS notifications for calls, reminders, or alarms. You can see up to four toast notifications at once, including three high-priority and one normal-priority notification.
### Fixes and Improvements:
- App Installer: Addresses issues where MSIX apps fail to update.
- Server Message Block (SMB): Resolved the problem preventing access to SMB shared folders with errors like "Not enough memory resources" or "Insufficient system resources".
- Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS): Fixes the issue where LSASS stops working when using Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
- Scheduled Tasks: Fixed scheduled task failures due to stored local user account credentials when Credential Guard is enabled. Error message was “2147943726: ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE (The username or password is incorrect).”
- Storage Spaces Direct (S2D) Cluster: Addresses issues preventing S2D clusters from coming online after a periodic password rollover (error code 1326).
- IE Mode Site Tab Settings: Fixes to allow proper access to tab settings for IE mode sites.
- Windows PowerShell Dot Sourcing: Resolved the issue where dot sourcing fails for files containing class definitions.
- Microsoft India Support: Updated support phone number for Windows activation in Microsoft India.
- PublishDfsRoots Policy: Ensures the policy applies correctly to a targeted client with mobile device management (MDM).
- IMSI Range Updates: Changes to the International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) ranges for certain mobile providers.
- Windows Firewall and Captive Portal Addresses: Fixes to prevent the firewall from dropping connections to the IP address of a captive portal when using the Captive Portal Addresses option.
- Multi-Function Label Printer: Addresses installation issues for some multi-function label printers.
- Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Devices: Issues resolved where Windows Firewall could not apply the correct domain and profile to Azure AD-joined devices.
- Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) Policies: Ensures that signed WDAC policies are applied to the Secure Kernel when Secure Boot is enabled.
- Touch Keyboard Layout: Fixes issues where the touch keyboard occasionally does not show the correct layout based on the current input scope and sometimes fails to open.
- NTFS and Reparse Points: Resolved issues causing stop errors when using NTFS to access a large reparse point after a canceled FSCTL Set operation changes the reparse tag.
