Windows 11 enthusiasts in the Canary Channel are in for an update treat with the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26212. This rollout unveils a series of changes, improvements, and fixes aimed at enhancing user experiences and addressing known issues. Here's an overview of the key highlights of this update:

Changes and Improvements:

- The Windows Share feature now allows users to generate QR codes for URLs and cloud file links, facilitating seamless content sharing across devices. Users can leverage this functionality by clicking on the share button in the Microsoft Edge toolbar and selecting "Windows share options."

- Users will no longer accidentally close the Windows share window when clicking outside it. To close the window, simply use the close button located at the top right corner.

- For users with a Microsoft account using a Gmail address, sending emails to themselves from the Windows share window is now supported, with the ability to receive emails in their Gmail account.

Copilot in Windows Updates:

- Various experiences for Copilot in Windows (Preview) were trialed across different Insider channels, introducing new features like Copilot acting as a standard application window. Rollout of these experiences has been paused for refinement based on user feedback.

Fixes for Known Issues:

- Various fixes have been implemented, such as resolving advanced startup options functionality, addressing issues with Features on Demand (FODs) installation, and fixing Copilot auto-launching after PC restarts.

- Other fixes include issues with taskbar positioning on secondary monitors, Narrator silence during taskbar app rearrangement, File Explorer crashes related to path suggestions, and more.

Known Issues:

- Investigations are ongoing regarding reports of Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels being stuck on specific builds. Users impacted by this can opt for the latest ISO for clean installation to access the latest build.

Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Canary Channel:

- Builds released in the Canary Channel should not be considered matched to a specific Windows release, as features are subject to change based on feedback and testing.

- The desktop watermark visible in pre-release builds is a normal occurrence, signifying ongoing development and preview status.

As this update rolls out, Microsoft emphasizes the importance of user feedback and engagement to refine and enhance Windows 11 features. Stay tuned for further developments and enhancements as the Windows Insider program continues to evolve.
