Windows 7 Explorer9 permenant hang.

I had a video conference with a friend this morning. Since then IE9 is hung up. It opens and the home page loads but there is no response from any web links. It can only be closed with a forced quit in task manager. WAP router has been re-set and the Mac next to it is just fine. Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated. thanks.

Have you rebooted the system?

Maybe something you do to achieve the Video Conferencing is causing it to lock onto the one address.

During the Vid Conference did you exchange any files with your friend. In addition to rebooting the system as Saltgrass has already recommended, perhaps a quick scan with something like Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer might produce some information.

Yeah. I was just thinking about that download when you suggested it. I sent a small jpg to him as a test during the video. Avast runs clean. CCleaner ran. I'll try mbam and see. We had another video call just now and that all looks good (except for me).

The system looks clean. Mbam quick and complete are ok. I didn't receive any attachments from him during the call so problem from that route not likely. I see w7 has an option to remove and reinstall explorer9 but not ready for that heavy handed approach just yet.
