Windows 7 Failed to upgrade to Windows 7

Hi. I am upgrading from Vista 64 Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium. I get to the expand files section, 18% 500 MB. The status bar tells me to reboot. I do that, and then after reboot the install stops with an unspecified cannot continue installing error. Only way forward is to boot Vista again.

Checking the setuperr log file I get:

I haven't been able to find the exact same problem description anywhere. Does anyone know how to proceed? It seems as though the queue problem is the main issue, but I have no clue what to do.

Looks like a problem connected to bluetooth .,

Did you try uninstalling anything that may have anything to with bluetooth.?

Someone found Vodafone connect was the issue in their case.

If you can find what it might be - uninstall from Vista - then you should be able to do the in place upgrade.

Otherwise, to save hours of messing about - try a custom/clean install to another partition . Mark that partition Active if you want the 7 boot critical files on there as well.

I did check this and I don't have anything installed for bluetooth.
I am considering a clean install, but I am a bit reluctant to do so. Only because I don't really want to give this up and maybe it can help others if I find the problem.

Is there anything in the Device Manager that uses bluetooth. You can check what drivers a device uses by checking the properties-driver-details. If there is, can you disable or uninstall that device.

If you can't, check this site to see if anything might help. It discusses stopping driver migration.

I did plug in my HTC phone to get the Windows Mobile adapter listed and then removed all associated files ( I did find bluetooth there). But it didn't help.

I will try a couple of more times, but then I think I will have to fall back on a clean install. Unfortunately.
