Associate doesen't work

When I go to Default Programs\Set associations\Change program.
And select a program it doesn't stick\work\register.

Try this...

To Re-Associate & Disassociated Extensions:

(This method only works on Vista/7)

To Rebuild the icon cache to allow your system icons to restore back to default:
