Everytime I try to watch something or do anything after a few minutes my CPU will start running hard and everything get's really choppy. I tryed completely re-installing windows and the problem came right back. I don't know what is causing it to do this.

It was fine for a year and now all of a sudden everything is lagging and being slow because of the one plug-in I have that I need.

Anyone know what's up?

Solution
It seems like you are facing performance issues with your CPU, leading to choppy performance while watching videos or using certain applications. Since you mentioned that the problem persisted even after a fresh Windows installation, it's essential to investigate further to identify the root cause. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the CPU performance issues:

1. Check Task Manager:

  • Open Task Manager by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Task Manager," or by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  • Go to the "Processes" tab to identify any resource-intensive applications.
  • Check the "Performance" tab to monitor CPU and memory usage.

    2. Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that your drivers, especially graphics and chipset drivers, are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause performance issues.

    3. Check for Malware:

  • Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to check for any malware that could be causing high CPU usage.

    4. Disable Startup Programs:

  • Disable unnecessary startup programs that might be consuming CPU resources unnecessarily. You can do this in Task Manager > Startup tab.

    5. Monitor CPU Temperature:

  • Monitor your CPU temperature to ensure it's not overheating, which can lead to performance degradation. You can use tools like Core Temp or HWMonitor for this.

    6. Check Power Settings:

  • Make sure your power settings are optimized for performance. You can access these settings in Control Panel > Power Options.

    7. Disable Unnecessary Browser Extensions:

  • Since you mentioned a plugin causing issues, try disabling browser extensions one by one to identify the problematic one.

    8. System File Checker (SFC) Scan:

  • Run an SFC scan to check for and repair corrupted system files. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command: sfc /scannow. After trying these steps, monitor your system's performance to see if the issue persists. If the problem continues, additional troubleshooting may be required. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any specific details about the plugin that might be causing the CPU spikes.
