Windows 7 Folders not found

When my computer with windows vista Home Premium did an (actualización) update program, my desktop changed and all my folders were not there. I moved some of them going to "search". Later I turned off the computer and turned on again. Then my old desktop were there but without the folders I moved before.
My problem is that I can't find those folders anywere. Please, could somebody help me to find them? I would appreciate that. Thank you in advance.
