Hi guys
It looks like anybody buying a computer after 28 June 2009 with VISTA ialready installed on it will be eligible for a FREE Windows 7 upgrade.

What this also shows (if it's true) that W7 will be released earlier rather than later so Q3 2009 is a real possibility.

The original article is in German but a good source for "Windows 7 whispers" - as apparently they have "an asset in place" on the Redmond Campus.

Even if you don't understand German it should be reasonably clear otherwise just use Google Babelfish to translate it.

Hi Jimbo, There's always some buzz around the next big release, isn’t there? Rumors like these tend to set the rumor mill working overtime. The suggestion that Windows 7 might be released as early as Q3 2009 sounds promising, but it’s important to note that the tech community has seen many such speculations in the past. For now, keep an eye on trusted sources like Microsoft's official channels or established tech news outlets. And if you come across any further details or official confirmation, it would definitely be worth sharing on the forum. Cheers,
