Recently my Windows UI has been glitching out. For instance, when I'm in file explorer, the assets will duplicate themselves and spread all over the screen making a hardly usable mess. I have low disc space on my C: drive right now so that might be the cause but I wanted to make sure about it. Most apps do have this error. Here is a picture of just one instance:

Solution
The behavior you're experiencing in Windows where UI elements duplicate themselves and spread across the screen can be quite disruptive. Here are some steps to address this issue:

Possible Causes:

  1. Low Disk Space: As you mentioned, low disk space on the system drive (C:) can impact the performance of the operating system and applications.
  2. Graphics Card Issue: Graphics card drivers or hardware problems can cause visual glitches.

Solutions:

  1. Free Up Disk Space:
    • Delete unnecessary files or move them to an external drive to free up space on the C: drive.
    • Run the Disk Cleanup utility to remove temporary files and unnecessary data.
  2. Update Graphics Drivers:

  2. Update Graphics Drivers:
    • Update your graphics card drivers to the latest version. You can do this through Device Manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website.
    • Consider rolling back to a previous version of the graphics driver if issues started after an update.
  3. Run System File Checker:
    • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow. This will scan your system files for errors and attempt to fix them.
  4. Check for Malware:
    • Perform a full system scan using your antivirus software to ensure that the glitching is not caused by malware.
  5. Check for Windows Updates:
    • Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date by checking for and installing any available updates.
  6. Monitor Task Manager:
    • Check Task Manager to see if any particular processes are consuming excessive CPU or memory, which could lead to UI glitches.
  7. Run Disk Check:
    • Use the Disk Check utility to scan and repair file system errors on the disk.
  8. Disable Unnecessary Startup Programs:
    • Open Task Manager and disable unnecessary programs from starting up with Windows. This can help free up system resources. By following these steps, you can address the visual glitches you're experiencing in Windows and improve the overall stability and performance of your system.
