Previously I was using Windows media player 11 on windows XP. I edited many of the mp3 tags from windows media player 11, advance tag editor. Recently I upgraded to Windows 7. Now windows 7 or wmp12 does not show tags only which were edited from wmp11 and it is able to show tags which were edited from other media. Also wmp12 or windows 7 does not allow to edit the tags of the same files.

Please help!

Thank you in advance.

    ]Use a Third-Party Tag Editor:
    • If Windows Media Player is not allowing you to edit the tags, consider using a third-party MP3 tag editor like Mp3tag. This tool can help you edit the tags for your files.
    []Convert Tags Format:
    • Convert the tags from ID3v2.4 to ID3v2.3 format. Some media players have issues reading ID3v2.4 tags. You can use Mp3tag to perform this conversion.
    [
    ]Restore Backup of Tags:
    • If you have a backup of the tags you edited in Windows Media Player 11, try restoring them to see if they display correctly in Windows 7 and Windows Media Player 12.
    []Update Windows Media Player:
    • Ensure that your Windows Media Player is up to date. Installing the latest updates might resolve compatibility issues with tags.
    [
    ]Metadata Cache Reset:
    • Resetting the metadata cache in Windows Media Player can sometimes fix tag display issues. This can be done through the Windows Media Player settings.

      Additional Notes:

    • Windows Media Player 12 sometimes has limitations in handling certain types of tags or file formats. Using alternative media players like VLC or Winamp may provide a workaround for viewing and editing tags. Try these steps and see if they help in resolving the tag display and editing issues you are experiencing with Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7. Let me know if you need further assistance!
