I've got a samsung HDD now, but it has died (within 3 days). So I don't know if I did something wrong or if the HDD sucks.
anyway, I've got my eye on 2 new harddrives:
    samsung HD105SI(bulk, SpinPoint F3 EcoGreen) = 49 euros

    vs
    Hitachi HDS5C1010CLA382 (bulk, Deskstar 5K1000, 24/7) = 50 euros

    vs
Western Digital WD10EARS (bulk, caviar Green, Advanced Format) = 47 euros

well Hitachi is soon to be bought out by Seagate (to add to Maxtor last year), and from what I read Samsung is selling their HD division to Western Digital soon, personally of the choices of model I'd go with Wd Green with 64mb cache despite the slower rpm.
