Windows 7 How can I stop clipboard contents being pasted automatically into the search box when I open a brows

Since installing Windows 7 and IE8, I've noticed that whatever was last copied to the clipboard gets pasted into the search field when I open Google.
I'd love to stop it doing this but I can't find a control anywhere.
Does anyone know how to turn this off?
