Hi guys. Im using win7 64bit SP1 and I quite often listen to music while playing FPS games. However at times i will discover i dont like a particular song or the volume is to loud or too quiet depending on my mood. I have sorted how to change the song by installing intellipoint 8.0. However the volume function turns down the computer master volume. Which will turn down the games volume as well. I only want the volume keybinding to effect iTunes. (I can adjust master using dial on speaker)

Are there any command prompt scripts i could use that would allow this. or is there a way to make it work with intellipoint. if my typing makes it hard to understand just let me know.

Thanks guys.

Solution
To customize the volume keybinding to only affect iTunes without adjusting the computer's master volume, you can try the following approach using a combination of AutoHotkey scripts and command line utilities:
  1. AutoHotkey Script: You can create an AutoHotkey script that listens for the volume keys and directs them to control only iTunes. Here's a basic outline of how you can achieve this:
    Code:
#Persistent SetTimer, CheckVolume, 100 CheckVolume: if (WinActive("ahk_class iTunes")) { DetectVolumeChange() } DetectVolumeChange() { ; Custom logic to increase/decrease volume in iTunes ; Example: SendInput ^{Up} ; Simulate Ctrl + Up arrow to increase volume ; Example: SendInput ^{Down} ; Simulate Ctrl + Down arrow to decrease volume...

  2. NirCmd: NirCmd is a command-line utility that allows you to control various aspects of your system, including volume adjustments. You can use NirCmd to control the volume of specific applications. Here's an example command to set the volume of iTunes:
    Bash:
    nircmdc.exe win setprocessmute iTunes.exe 0
This command will unmute (set volume to 0) the iTunes process.
  3. Task Scheduler: You can create a task in Task Scheduler to run the NirCmd command at specific intervals or trigger it based on certain events. Using this combination of AutoHotkey scripts, NirCmd commands, and Task Scheduler, you can achieve the functionality you desire. This setup will help you control the volume of iTunes independently without affecting the master volume of the computer or other applications. Let me know if you need more detailed instructions on setting up any part of this solution!
