How do I allocate more RAM to a specific program or service?

You don't and there's no reason to. Windows tricks all programs by allocating a huge amount of virtual memory (more than the system has) and Windows handles swapping out unused program data to disk and loads needed data all on it's own.

If you are short on RAM, you can try closing other programs from Task Manager or getting more RAM installed. Most computers these days ship well under their maximum RAM limits which allows you to shop for more and install it yourself. The RAM slots make it simple for anyone to swap out the old RAM and install the new.

1.Open the program or background application you'd like to allocate memory to, and then right-click the Windows Taskbar and select "Start Task Manager" from the context menu.
2. Open the "Processes" tab and scroll through the list to your program's process. To confirm that it is the process you want, right-click it and select "Properties." Close the Properties dialog box when done.
3. Right-click the process again and move your mouse cursor over the "Set Priority" option. The default option is Normal, and is already selected. Select "Above Normal" or "High" to allocate additional memory to the process.
4. Close the Task Manager. Your memory allocation takes effect immediately.

You have such weird mumbo-jumbo advises...
What you suggest does NOT assign more RAM to that process.. it increases the CPU resourses for that process.. (with is totally unnessesary)

and to: Palexander.. if you follow this "advice" remember: Before you proceed, you need to know the following. The Realtime priority level is not meant to be set by the user.
It can cause system instability. An application running at this priority can consume 100% of CPU and intercept keyboard and mouse input, making the PC unusable.
