To address the issue of running out of space on your D: drive (which has only 32GB free space), you can change the default installation directory to your C: drive (which has 160GB of space available). Here's how you can do it:

Changing the Default Installation Directory:

  1. Modify Registry Settings:
    • Warning: Before proceeding, it's important to back up your important data.
    • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box.
    • Type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion.

    • Look for the ProgramFilesDir and ProgramFilesDir (x86) entries.
    • Change the values of these entries to the new installation path on the C: drive (e.g., C:\Program Files).
    []Changing Environment Variables:
    • Right-click on This PC or My Computer and select Properties.
    • Click on Advanced system settings.
    • In the System Properties window, click on the Environment Variables button.
    • Look for variables like ProgramFiles and ProgramFiles(x86), and change their paths to the C: drive.

    ]App-specific Installations:
    • During installations, make sure to customize the installation path to point to the C: drive instead of the default D: drive.
    • Most installers provide an option to select the installation path. Choose the C: drive for all future installations.

Cleaning Up Space on the D: Drive:

To free up space on your D: drive, you can also perform the following actions:
    • Delete Temporary Files:
    • Use Disk Cleanup to remove temporary files and unnecessary system files.
    • Uninstall Unnecessary Programs:
    • Uninstall programs that you no longer need to free up space.
    • Move Files to C: Drive:
    • Transfer large files like videos, music, or documents to the C: drive. By changing the default installation path to the C: drive and clearing up space on the D: drive, you can effectively manage your storage space and avoid running into space constraints.
