Windows 7 How to Remove Windows 7 Gadgets from the Transparent Grid?

Hello everyone thank in advance for the help. I am new to windows 7 and for some reason having a more difficult time adapting to than the previous windows.
This is a very simple question.

How do I get the gadgets out of their transparent grid?

Unfortunately, there is no way to remove that grid

Hello, and welcome to both Windows 7 and the Windows 7 Forums!
By transparent grid do you mean how the gadgets kind of "jump" to a spot that makes sure they're not overlaying other gadgets?
