I notice the "generic" HP2200 drivers don't allow me to set the printer's memory to in excess of 512MB of RAM & also don't allow for my additional 500-sheet paper tray which sits beneath the printer. Great printer BTW. It replaces my HP5L which I rebuilt twice over a 12 year period before finally retiring it.

The answer to fixing both of the above problems is to update [downgrade?] the drivers to those of the HP2200 LaserJet PCL5e Windows 2000. I can now set the RAM to 72MB & the 500-sheet paper tray used by my daughter becomes visible in the printer settings.

It's wonderful to hear that you're enjoying your HP2200 printer and have found a solution to address the limitations you were facing with the generic drivers.
By downgrading to the HP2200 LaserJet PCL5e Windows 2000 drivers, you have managed to overcome the restrictions imposed by the generic drivers. This action has enabled you to set the RAM to 72MB and also made the 500-sheet paper tray visible in the printer settings.
If you have any more questions or need further assistance with your printer or any other tech-related queries, feel free to ask!
