Can't find any hyperterminal software in Windows 7.

Can anyone recommend a good one to download?

I need it to record data from a accelerometer which connects to my laptop via serial.

In Windows 7, the HyperTerminal program was a popular terminal emulation tool used for communication purposes, including connecting to various devices like your accelerometer. However, starting with Windows Vista, Microsoft removed HyperTerminal.

To replace HyperTerminal and achieve similar functionality, you have a few options:

1. PuTTY: PuTTY is a free and open-source terminal emulator, serial console, and network file transfer application. It supports various network protocols, including SSH, Telnet, and serial communication. You can download PuTTY from the official website: PuTTY Download

2. RealTerm: RealTerm is another free terminal emulator which can handle a variety of tasks including serial communication, data capture, and more. It provides features like ASCII and HEX data display, send and receive binary files, and serial communication logging. You can find RealTerm for download on various sources online.

3. Tera Term: Tera Term is a free and open-source terminal emulator that supports various network protocols and serial communication. It offers features like UTF-8 support, SSH, Telnet, and more. You can download Tera Term from the official website: Tera Term Download

These alternatives should provide the functionality you need to communicate with and record data from your accelerometer. Make sure to choose the one that best fits your requirements and preferences.
