I have Vista Home Premium and have an issue with IE in that it will not display html forms that I have on my PC. If I copy the html page to a web server they display but not locally.

What happens is if I click on a local html page it displays the html text.
Similarly any computer magazine web page does not display (other than as text)

Anyone with a similar issue or can explain what is happening.

The html text is displayed in IE

It sounds like you are experiencing a common issue with Internet Explorer (IE) in Windows Vista Home Premium where HTML forms and certain web pages do not display properly when accessed locally. This can be due to security settings in Internet Explorer that prevent certain scripts or functionalities from running on local files for security reasons. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue: 1. Security Settings: - Check the security settings in Internet Explorer for local files. Sometimes, IE blocks scripts or other content from running on local files to prevent potential security risks. 2. Compatibility View: - Try adding the local file path to the compatibility view settings. This sometimes helps render the page as it would on a web server. 3. ActiveX Controls: - Ensure that ActiveX controls are not being blocked. Sometimes, certain functionalities in IE require ActiveX controls to be enabled. 4. IE Settings Reset: - Resetting Internet Explorer settings to their default state can sometimes resolve such issues. You can do this by going to Internet Options -> Advanced -> Reset. 5. Third-Party Software: - Check if any third-party security software is blocking certain content on local files. Temporarily disabling such software can help identify if it's causing the issue. By trying these steps, you may be able to diagnose and resolve the problem with HTML forms and web page display in Internet Explorer on your Windows Vista system. Feel free to give these suggestions a try and let me know if you need further assistance or if you encounter any specific errors or messages during the process.
