Have a 1505 inspirion Dell dual core. The laptop powers on Media Direct on the left and POwers on os on the right. I've installed windows 7 which takes up full bios. To get media direct installed CORRECTLY do I have to wait until the final windows comes out and then install Media Direct First or can I still go into the bios and install it so I can use the media direct power button and avoid the os?

Media Direct is a pre-boot environment that allows you to quickly access multimedia content without fully booting into the operating system. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this issue: 1. Check Compatibility: Ensure that the version of Media Direct you are trying to install is compatible with your specific Dell Inspiron 1505 model. 2. BIOS Settings: Media Direct often requires specific settings in the BIOS to function correctly. Check your BIOS settings to ensure that they are configured properly to support Media Direct. 3. Installation Order: Installing Media Direct after Windows 7 may cause conflicts. It's usually recommended to install Media Direct before the main operating system to ensure proper functionality. However, if you have already installed Windows 7, you can try reinstalling Media Direct to see if it resolves the issue. 4. Dell Support: Contact Dell support for specific instructions on how to install Media Direct on your model of laptop. They may provide you with the necessary steps and guidance to resolve the issue. 5. Update Drivers: Ensure that all drivers on your laptop are up to date, as outdated drivers can sometimes cause conflicts with specialized software like Media Direct. 6. Recovery Options: Some Dell laptops have a recovery partition that includes the Media Direct software. Check if your laptop has this option and if you can restore Media Direct from the recovery partition. In summary, you may try reinstalling Media Direct and configuring the BIOS settings accordingly to see if it resolves the issue. If you are unsure about the process or encounter any difficulties, it's always a good idea to reach out to Dell support for further assistance. Feel free to provide more details or ask for specific instructions if needed!
