Hi

I am trying to install Win 7 on my computer from a DVD.

I first tried to install Win 7 "over" my Win XP but the installation frooze all the time.
So i went ahead and formatted the SATA-driev and now when i try to install the Win 7 i recieve the message "BOOTMGR is missing".

Has anyone got any idea of what the problem is?
Could there be something in my computer or is it most likely something wrong with the Win 7 DVD?

Best regards

i suggest first thing to try is run the installer dvd again, then select repair on the installer prompt....it will then load up some tools which will detect such issues and try to fix it.

have you set ur bios to boot from dvd?? also if u have the option to "repair my pc" try that first,on my pc its F8 when booting, which takes me to more options like repair or recover, its different for different machines though

BOOTMGR refers to corrupted boot files, hence you need to use the install DVD's tools. This same tool pck can be burned to a seperate CD if you have a 2nd PC with Win7...simply goto start/run type recdisc and pop in blank disk....
